An ensemble of uncommon variety and repertoire, the Prima Trio triumphed at the prestigious Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, winning the coveted Grand Prize (out of no fewer than 137 entries) as well as the Gold Medal award. Guilia Gurevich from Uzbekistan (violin/viola), Boris Allakhverdyan from Azerbaijan (clarinet) and Anastasia Dedik from Russia (piano) met as students at the renowned Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio. Each is a distinguished as a soloist internationally and as a trio they have met with equal success. The Prima Trio distinguishes itself not only with its remarkable playing, but also through the repertoire they perform, from Mozart to Schickele as well as arrangements of Astor Piazzolla by their clarinetist Boris Allakhverdyan, who was named as one of the two principal clarinetists of The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in 2014.
